(*) We use print material that looks similar to US currency, but is clearly not. Each cake contains a compartment that can hold a card and cash or a check or a gift card.

How I got started

Often customers want to know how I started this business. My husband and I were invited to a wedding in the summer of 2008. After deciding to give the bride and groom money, we were looking to make this gift still special.

At the time my mother in law was visiting and we discussed the idea of some arts and crafts item. The idea of a money cake was born. My mother in law and I went shopping for the materials and in an evening we created the first cake.

We hit the mark spot on. Such an item was unique. A few weeks later I met the bride and her mother. The bride told me how excited she was about the idea and her mother agreed. They encouraged me to start a business and share my money cakes with the world.

Here we are, we started in October 2008, creating money cakes. We have some other ideas coming soon.
